Comprehensive Approach

Dr. Monte Harris and the Center for Aesthetic Modernism believe that your treatment plan should be as unique and individualized as you are. Our comprehensive approach – an integration of analysis, non-invasive therapies, and surgical procedures – ensures that you receive the absolute highest level of care. Your holistic treatment plan depends on your commitment level, severity, comfort level, and aesthetic goals.

We want to ensure that you are well-informed, comfortable, and have realistic expectations of your treatment plan or surgical procedure. Every patient meets with Dr. Harris and his staff for an initial consultation. This is where we will collect your medical history, discuss your various treatment options, and answer any and all questions you may have. If you choose to have a surgical procedure, Dr. Harris requires a complete history and physical performed by your family physician. It must include lab tests to determine if you are medically cleared to undergo anesthesia and the surgery. Please visit our gallery of before-and-after pictures to see both surgical and non-surgical transformations. Dr. Harris treats every patient with integrity, artistry and individuality…we are confident that the Center will help you achieve your aesthetic ideal.

Home Regimen

Individuals are seeking less invasive facial rejuvenation procedures with minimal downtime: we are truly in the "less is more" era. The Center for Aesthetic Modernism offers an array of therapies that stand alone, or may be used in conjunction with surgical procedures, to provide you with the most appropriate and beneficial results.

Oral Antioxidants

The skin and face are often the first noticeable signs of aging. Vitamins are a natural, healthy way to improve your skin and overall health. What you eat truly has an effect on your skin, as your skin reflects the general state of your health. The optimal way to provide your body with the proper vitamins it needs for sustained health is through nutrition. Busy lifestyles may make this a bit difficult and as such, a daily multivitamin is sufficient.

Free radicals are the result of normal body processes but may also be created by exposure to various environmental factors such as pollution, smoking, alcohol, stress, UV radiation from the sun, lack of sleep, etc. Free radicals speed up the aging process within the body. Antioxidants prevent free radicals from potentially damaging millions of healthy, functioning cells by donating an electron to unstable free radicals. Our bodies are unable to manufacture antioxidants and thus they need to be supplied by the diet as well as applied to the skin.

A diet rich in a variety of antioxidants helps to fight the visible signs of aging and is essential to maintaining good health. We offer a 19-fruit blend drink, which includes the foundational AÇAI berry, whose synergistic union of fruit reaches far beyond what any single fruit can accomplish. Fruit intake is critical to good health because of their richness in antioxidants. Four ounces of this blend provides an antioxidant capacity equivalent to thirteen servings of common fruits and vegetables. Individuals who regularly consume this fruit blend have reported an increase in vitality, better health, an overall sense of well being, and an improvement in joint and heart health. Skin Care

Incorporating an at-home skin care regiment is an important component to developing an overall customized therapy to restore and enhance your youthful appearance.

Our bodies are unable to manufacture antioxidants, therefore they need to be supplied by the diet and applied to the skin. We usually think of vitamin and antioxidant supplements as something to be consumed through nutrition. While this is important, many vitamins, minerals and other nutrients are also beneficial when applied topically. Different skin care regiments may be put together for you to target your main concern. Two common areas of concern are an aging appearance and uneven complexion.

We carry both the Skin Ceuticals and dermHA lines in the office.

Latisse

 Non-Invasive Therapies

Oral Therapy

Propecia

Propecia is an FDA approved once-a-day pill for the treatment of certain types of male pattern hair loss in men. Propecia reduces DHT, a key cause of hair loss. Clinical studies have shown that:

• 9 of 10 men who took Propecia had visible results; either regrowth of hair or no further
  hair loss
• 2 of 3 men who took Propecia regrew hair, as measured by hair count.
• A majority of men who took Propecia reported that their bald spot got smaller, their hair loss
slowed down, and the appearance of their hair improved.

Patients prescribed Propecia must continue to take it as long as they want to grow or maintain hair. It is very important that a patient tries it for at least one year to measure its effectiveness. Here are results after two years of treatment: 99% of men had visible results (growth or no further hair loss); 66% had hair growth; 33% had no further hair loss; and 1% had a visible decrease of hair.

Vitamins

Vitamins are a natural, healthy way to improve your hair health. What you eat truly has an effect on how well your hair grows, and your hair reflects the general state of your health. Dr. Harris and his team will assess your diet and may determine that supplements would be an appropriate addition to your treatment plan. Below is a list of vitamins required for healthy hair.

Vitamin B complex
B vitamins are the best for hair growth, especially Biotin/B7. B vitamins are water-soluble, will not build up in the body, and play an important role in cell metabolism. Para-aminobenzoic acid may prevent your hair from graying. Niacin/B3 promotes circulation to your scalp which is needed to keep hair follicles healthy. Panthenol/B5 gives hair flexibility, strength and shine and helps prevent hair loss and graying. Biotin/B7 can also prevent your hair from graying prematurely and is an essential vitamin for preventing hair loss, including eyelashes and eyebrows. B6 helps prevent dandruff, and B12 also helps prevent hair loss.

Foods that are high in B vitamins include whole grains, fresh fruit, brewer's yeast, eggs, nuts, fish, turkey, lean meats, and milk.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is an essential nutrient required for a range of metabolic reactions in the body, some of which ultimately affect the health of your hair. Vitamin C also aids in improving circulation to the scalp.

Foods that are high in vitamin C include citrus fruits, kiwis, strawberries, pineapples, tomatoes, and green and red peppers.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E increases oxygen uptake, which also improves circulation to the scalp. Improved circulation improves health and hair growth. Hair health and growth, being tied to immune health, is enhanced with Vitamin E due to its function in the immune system.

Foods that are high in vitamin E include wheat germ oil, almonds, sunflower seeds, spinach, olives, papaya, blueberries, broccoli, kiwis, and mango.

Minerals
Magnesium, sulfur and zinc are also important for a healthy hair and scalp.

Foods that are high in magnesium include beans, broccoli, halibut, okra, whole grains, nuts, artichokes and spinach. Sulfur-rich foods include asparagus, broccoli, pumpkin seeds, red pepper, garlic, onion, watercress and kale. Foods that are high in zinc include oysters, lean beef, lamb, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, yogurt, green peas, nuts, all bran cereal, artichokes, and shrimp.

Hair Analysis

Digital Scalp Analysis

A microscope/camera system is used to clearly show each new patient the number of dormant hair follicles in a square centimeter. Using the Monte O. Harris, MD, FACS, customized hair therapy treatment; the hairs can be put into the anagen phase of growth. This digital analysis system dramatically demonstrates improvement throughout therapy.

Hair Analysis

Genetic Testing

Genetic testing is now available to predict your predisposition and risk for hair loss and thinning. The test is a simple cheek swap that is sent to the lab for analysis. This test gives you the opportunity for early medical intervention. Based on your predisposition, a more aggressive treatment plan may create more effective results, allowing Dr. Harris to stabilize the hair loss rather than work backwards to regrow hair. The earlier you predict pattern hair loss, the more likely you are to save your hair. HairDx is the genetic test used at The Center.

Why should you take a HairDx test?

  • The HairDx Genetic Test predicts your risk for hair loss or thinning
  • By the time hair loss or thinning is noticeable - almost 50% of your hair could be gone
  • The only FDA approved treatments are best at preserving existing hair

What will the HairDx test tell you?

Females…

  • The HairDx Genetic Test for Female Pattern Hair Loss provides women with a score, called the CAG repeat score
  • A smaller CAG test score is associated with a higher risk for significant hair loss (Ludwig grade II or III hair loss)
  • Scientists discovered that only 2.3% of women with a CAG test score below 15 did NOT develop Female Pattern Hair Loss

Males…

  • The HairDx Genetic Test for Male Pattern Hair Loss reports the presence or absence of a specificvariation in the androgen receptor gene
  • A positive test result means that a man has the high risk genetic variation
  • Men who test positive have approximately a 70% chance of going bald
  • Men who test negative have approximately a 70% chance of not going bald
